Lecture, Panel & Networking: On Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta and the Alliance Française d’Atlanta will join forces to celebrate the European Day of Languages. The evening will be split into three major areas:
The science part will feature a guest speaker and will look at the psychology behind learning a foreign language and its benefits to the human brain.
The business part will involve local business leaders holding a question and answer session to underline the importance and benefits within the business sector to be able to speak a different language and the doors it can open for you.
The competition part will acknowledge and honor High School Students who have participated in a completion and have gotten creative and shown off their language skills by producing either a 3 minute video or a self contained tri-fold poster on the importance of foreign languages within the global community – the emphasis here being on the word ‘language’, with either French or German included within the entry! Prizes are up for grabs in each category with the winning entries showcased at the event. For more information on the competition and the rules surrounding it click here.
