Wireshark 101 students learn to capture traffic, filter on key protocols, applications and addresses, graph throughput problems, detect security concerns and more.
This course is based on the Wireshark 101: Essential Skills for Network Analysis book. It was developed for beginner analysts and includes 46 labs to walk students through many essential analysis skills.
This course provides an ideal starting point whether students are interested in analyzing traffic to learn how an application works, need to troubleshoot slow network performance, or determine whether a machine is infected with malware.
Learning to capture/analyze communications with Wireshark will help students understand how TCP/IP networks function using real world scenarios and trace files.Day 1:Explore Key Wireshark Elements and Traffic FlowsCustomize Wireshark Views and SettingsDetermine the Best Capture Method and Apply Capture FiltersDay 2:Apply Display Filters to Focus on Specific TrafficColor and Export Interesting PacketsBuild and Interpret Tables and GraphsDay 3:Reassemble Traffic for Faster AnalysisAdd Comments to Your Trace Files and PacketsUse Command-Line Tools to Capture, Split, and Merge TrafficAbout the Presenter:
