Single life isn't what it used to be. Now, in 2013, dating is more outrageous as ever, and trying to find true love, romance and connectivity with someone special can be a daunting, arduous and often exhausting task. However, it can also be extremely fun, rewarding and overwhelmingly hilarious, if you allow yourself the privilege to laugh. Black & Single takes a humorous approach to dating, from an African American perspective, examining all of the virtues, stress, awkward moments, idiosyncrasies and fumbles that we endure as we search to find the one. There's no better therapy for loneliness than laughter, and there's no better way to learn ourselves than looking in the mirror.Black & Single is a popular comedic web-series that began a year ago, and premiered on April 30th 2012. Since then, the show has grown to over 115,000 online viewers and our mission is to spread the word!According to Jay Ali, the creator, writer and director "I created the show because I didn't see a show out there that humorously tackled the issues and the cultural nuances of our people. It was also born out of a desire to hone my craft as a filmmaker... but it has evolved into something that has grown beyond my expectations."Black & Single is a web-series that follows the lives of Oni and Jesse. Two young, single and black professionals that work in the same office building and are seemingly perfect for each other. There is one problem. They never meet. They intersect each others lives at hilarious and various moments while searching for love when true love passes them by everyday unwittingly. Will they ever meet? Only time will tell.Currently, we are developing a series of exclusive screening events in conjunction with the 17th Annual American Black Film Festival, taking place on Miami Beach, in June 2013.
