This day is meant to encourage families to set aside time, drop everything, and read together at home. Children and parents can begin celebrating DEAR Day, which is also author Beverly Clearys birthday, at the Buckhead Branch by checking out books about Ramona, her older sister Beezus, Henry, Ribsy (the dog), Socks (the cat), and Ralph S. Mouse. Ask the librarian about making a special bookmark to use in all the books you check out by this beloved author. Then, go home and READ TOGETHER! There will be many coloring pages and activity sheets that can also be taken home.
