The Atlanta Police Cycling Team will host a fundraiser for their participation in the 2013 Police Unity Tour on March 7, 2013 at the Rose and Crown Tavern. The APD Cycling Team is a group of dedicated law enforcement professionals who enjoy cycling and share in the determination to better their lives through cardiovascular health. This fundraiser will benefit the 2013 Police Unity Tour, which takes place in May 2013. The ride from Portsmouth, Va. to Washington, D.C. was established in 1997 to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The APD Cycling team will ride in remembrance of fallen officers Gail Thomas, Rich Halford and Shawn Smiley.
