Sammy Peters is a contemporary abstractionist who has been the subject of numerous exhibition catalogs and has been recognized with several awards such as the MacDowell Fellowship and the M-AAA/NEA Fellowship. He incorporates various mixed media, such as fabric, paper and drawing on the surface of his paintings. Peters’ mixture of collage and abstract expressionism presents the viewer with a sophisticated color palette and geometric forms. An exceptional painter, his work is dynamic and expressive – revealing the capability of paint on canvas. Highly praised by critics, Peters’ work is in collections across the country.
