Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering Distinguished Professor, College of Engineering We have been developing nanotechnology-based approaches for cancer detection and therapy. In this talk I will present the cancer related research projects in my lab, including molecular beacons for microRNA detection, magnetic nanoparticle probes for molecular targeting and imaging, and engineered nucleases for gene editing.  Critical issues and challenges in nanoparticle based cancer imaging and therapy are discussed. Georgia Tech has been a leader in the development of collaborative approaches to both cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. The mission of the Integrated Cancer Research Center (ICRC) is to facilitate integration of the diversity of technological, computational, scientific and medical expertise at Georgia Tech and partner institutions in a coordinated effort to develop improved cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
