Participants in this class will also leave with a better understanding of the DHR reporting requirements for accidents and injuries.  Infectious Diseases:  Recognition & Prevention Proper hand washing and diapering procedures are just a few of the sanitary practices addressed in this course to help early childhood professionals learn how to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses in child care. Track Two:  Curriculum for the Holidays (8:00am-12:00 noon)Ooey Gooey Sensory or the Holidays - From Hanukkah to Christmas to Kwanzaa, you'll find sensory ideas to delight your little one's need for touching, smelling, and tasting to learn.  Add excitement to your centers as you fill them with multi-cultural holiday ideas that stimulate the senses and make learning fun.Games & Music to Make the Holidays Merry -  Add spice, flair and movement to your indoor and outdoor large group times with these multicultural games and activities for the holidays.  You'll find transition ideas, circle time games, and seasonal games that help you celebrate the holidays of the world.(Teachers choosing this tract who need six hours should register for the feature class in the guidance series for their final session.)Track Three: Guidance-Professionalism Series (8:00am-3:00pm)8:00 - 12:00 Tackling Tantrums, Tall Tales, and other negative behaviors - guidance strategies that move children towards pro-social actions.  ""Naughty or Nice" talk might have worked during the holidays for teachers and parents of the past, but today's educator's need multiple strategies to keep classrooms under control.  Learn what the research shows about how children develop pro-social behaviors, and learn strategies you might  try to reduce negatives and guide your little ones to deisred behaviors . 1:00 - 3:00 (Feature Class!)
