Alliance Française d'Atlanta presents a film Concert: silent films by one of the founders of filmmaking and special effects, world renowned Georges Méliès, with piano accompaniment and narration. 2012 also happens to be 150th anniversary of Georges Méliès, whose life story was recently depicted in the academy award winning film “HUGO” directed by Martin Scorsese. Making this program even more special, his descendants will present a performance in the true family tradition of silent films accompanied by live music and narration. Joining us from France to present this film concert will be Méliès own family members, Marie-Hélène Lehérissey and Lawrence Lehérissey. Students: $15. AFA-Members: $20. Non-Members: $25.
