Another great political forum is in store for you. We had such an amazing turnout at the last one, we felt it necessary to host another one. This will be a great time to meet and greet political candidates running for various positions, and to have your specific questions answered before the November 6th General Election. The Junior League of Douglas County (JLDC) is an organization for women committed to promoting volunteerism, to developing the potential of women, and to improving the effective actio n and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior League of Douglas County reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. The State Public Affairs Committee of Georgia is a statewide, non-partisan committee made up of delegates from each of the twelve Junior Leagues in Georgia who join together to take action on select state and national public issues. GA SPAC is the advocacy arm of the Junior Leagues of Georgia monitoring the state legislative process and addressing issues of political importance to the members of the Junior Leagues regarding initiatives and legislation to improve the quality of life for women and children; improve the quality of education; and improve the environment. SPAC represents a combined membership of 10,000 Junior League volunteers in Georgia. Organized as a national non-profit organization in 1981, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. advocates on behalf of Black women and other women of color through national and local actions and alliances promoting leadership development and gender equity in health, education and economic development. The national organization has over 7, 000 members and 63 chapters. The Northwest Georgia Chapter was chartered on March 27, 2004 and targets its service and advocacy efforts to Cherokee, Cobb, and Douglas counties.
