“TIE ONE ON FOR THE RECORD”A Benefit for the Nicholas HouseDid you know that November is National Homeless Awareness Month? As national unemployment continues to hover just above 8%, there is little relief being provided to those who have been/are out of work. The circumstances scream out for those who are not homeless to respond in a sympathetic, unrelenting, and attentive manner. For those that can be helped, Nicholas House has become a safe haven for many of them. As one of Atlanta’s oldest transitional homes, Nicholas House provides families with reasonable accommodations so that families can remain together and transition back into society as a productive citizens. Our goal is to raise 5,000 at this event for the Nicholas House!Being passionate about the cause ,we chose to help with the homeless issue because it is something that resonates with Jay Austin on a very personal level. Knowing that it is an unbiased affliction, he wants to do his part to ensure that no one has to suffer through it unnecessarily. Jay was a homeless man who overcame the odds to become the Bowtie King of Atlanta! On November 7, 2012 Jay Austin’s charity event, “Tie One on For the Record” will help raise money for the Nicholas House and bring more awareness to the struggle. To raise money, Mr. Austin has come up with a very unique contest and the way it works is simple. 200 people will join him to help set the world-record for most self-tied bowties in 3 minutes! He has submitted all the necessary paper work to the Guinness World Records and is ready to set the record and help the homeless at the same time. WE ARE ASKING EVERYONE WEAR PURPLE AND BLACK FOR THIS EVENT.
