New York’s Gallim Dance erupted onto the contemporary dance scene in 2007, and it has since performed everywhere from Jacob’s Pillow to Suzanne in Tel Aviv. Gallim Dance is led by choreographer Andrea Miller, a graduate of the Juilliard School and one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” who has danced for Ohad Naharin's Ensemble Batsheva, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, The Limon Dance Company and Buglisi Dance Theater. Miller’s new piece "SIT, KNEEL, STAND" aims to deconstruct the border between harmony and chaos, and the story is told in Gallim’s sharply athletic, technically virtuous style.
