Dear Colleagues,
For more than 20 years, the Contraceptive Technology: Quest for Excellence conference has been the "go-to" meeting for the most current, evidence-based information on contraception management, and this year's program will continue to live up to its reputation. During "CT 2012" we will tackle a number of challenging issues: What's the latest on Emergency Contraception? … you will be VERY surprised. Must clinicians perform a list of screening measures at specific intervals or are some considered obsolete these days? Is the WHO criteria written for global audiences really the best guidance on contraceptives for women with medical conditions? The speakers at this year's conference will bring cut-to-the-chase information that may just shake up the way you've been practicing.
Dr. Robert Hatcher will share with us his top 10 favorite contraceptive management questions gleaned from his website … our guess is, many of these are your questions, too. Dr. Michael Policar is sifting through the evidence – noting which is weak and which is strong – to cull the preventive medical measures that have proven themselves from those that arise primarily from strong opinion and high hopes. And Dr. Carrie Cwiak will take a closer look at obesity and contraceptive effectiveness ... again, a growing body of evidence is helping us shape our care in this area. What is riskier for STI/HIV – unintended pregnancy or hormonal contraception? Dr. Ward Cates tackles that more recent debate. And Dr. Anita Nelson addresses some surprising new findings about oral contraceptives and takes a look at some of the new pill formulations.
You'll hear the pearls and data, share your war stories and ask your burning questions during the interactive Concurrent Sessions. And don't miss the Preconferences, great opportunities to gain new knowledge and earn additional CE credit.
