The American Cancer Society (ACS) will host the 10th Annual Pink Ribbon Classic Ladies’ Golf Tournament on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the City Club Marietta, Powder Springs Road. Proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer research, local ACS programs, advocacy efforts and education for cancer patients, survivors and their families.

On Sunday, October 5, there will be a kick-off preview party for the tournament titled “Get Tee’d Off at Breast Cancer.” The event is open to the public and will be held at the PGA Tour Superstore Kennesaw location from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This party will offer silent and live auctions in addition to dinner catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Chuck Dowdle, the sports director and anchor for WSB-TV Atlanta, will emcee the evening and participate in the live auction. There will be contests and prizes for participants. “This is our 3rd year at the Superstore and is such a wonderful party, not to be missed”, said Terri Benson, Tournament Co-Chair.

The Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament takes place the next day, Monday, October 6, beginning at 10 a.m. “We anticipate a sellout of 144 women golfers and men will volunteer to be their caddies. They all have a wonderful day of golf and fun for a great cause!” said Tracy Sirmans, Tournament Co-Chair. The tournament Honoree this year is Cissy Chastain, a two-time cancer survivor and tournament board member. The tournament special guests are B98.5 Radio Celebrity DJs Steve McCoy and Vikki Locke and they will officially kick off the tournament and Steve will be a caddy for one of the teams.

The golfers will enjoy breakfast provided by Chick-fil-A and coffee from Starbucks followed by a great boxed lunch from Amy and Tammy’s Boxed Lunch Company. The 19th hole party is being given by the Hilton Marietta Conference Center and will feature wonderful appetizers, drinks and prizes for the golfers and caddies.
